Graham Oglesby began hairdressing in the North of England, starting his career at Vidal Sassoon in Manchester, where his love of music provided him with a steady stream of local clients from the late 70s and early 80s music scene. Graham’s impressive list included names such as the Smiths’ Morrissey and Johnny Marr, Echo and The Bunnymen’s front man Ian McCulloch and Factory record label boss Tony Wilson. London beckoned and soon Graham was making his name at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in London where he was involved in teaching, photographic work and platform work at shows around the country. After moving to Vancouver in Canada, Graham joined the Suki Academy and continued teaching while also travelling around Canada and the United States performing at shows for the likes of L’Oreal, Wella and Goldwell. Seven years later he returned to Manchester, and took up his a post as Hairdressing Lecturer and Programme Coordinator for the VRQ Level 2 Diploma Hairdressing Programmes within Further Education at Stockport College, where the team, including colourist Tracey Sajno, raised the OFSTED status of Stockport College and its Hairdressing Department to a Grade 1 and was awarded the Learning and Skills Beacon status in 2008. Graham continue to teach further education students in Manchester.
