Paris Fashion Week AW2017 – Our Hairstyle Picks from the Biggest Shows

We at MHDPro absolutely love Paris Fashion Week – it’s the most gorgeous and glam of all the weeks and the hair is always amazing, and Paris Fashion Week AW2017 was no exception.
No matter how simple (!) the hair at the fashion week, usually every look has to be exactly the same – or ityompletely different – for each model. At the very least, there are 25 models per show, who arrive from their last show with a distinct style. The new team has no backwash, yet has to re-do the hair to the designer’s brief. At the very best they will have two hours, at the worst – about 20 minutes!
Paul Hanlon’s Rochas Ponytails
Starting with our who’s who of the world’s best session stylists, Paul Hanlon reminded us that a ponytail is only limited by our own imagination. This cute look for Rochas is so precise in detail – a folded under pony with hair wrapped around the base and not a hair out of place. It looks so simple yet this perfection takes a huge amount of practice.
Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood’s Recycled Chic by Sam McKnight
BaByliss PRO sponsored session legend Sam McKnight and his hair team for this stunning, eclectic look for the Andreas Kronthaer for Vivienne Westwood show. Incorporating recycled items found backstage, these looks take hair accessories to a new level. Hair was braided, waved and straightened, with the addition of hair extensions, to ensure each model had a truly unique look.
Alexander McQueen’s Louche Waves by Guido Palau
Session guru, Guido Palau created these cool waves for the Alexander McQueen show. We love that some of the hair was pulled into a very low ponytail, with lots left free. Imagine this for your Boho bride – just add flowers or extra accessories to dress it up for a special occasion.
Chanel Bouffant Paris Fashion Week AW 17 by Sam McKnight
It’s the one we wait for with baited breath and Karl Lagerfeld didn’t disappoint with a rocket taking off as the spectacular Chanel show finale. Again the hair was created by Lagerfeld’s hairdresser of choice, Sam McKnight, who crafted backcombed, 60’s inspired looks finished with a bejewelled headband.
