Following his win in the NHF Photographic Stylist of the Year 2016, York hairdresser Ross Charles and his team were delighted to receive MHD instructor Steve Turner into the salon for a day of training.

As part of the prize, each team member also received access to the MHDPro Romantic Bridal Hair collection, which Steve used to demonstrate the techniques during the day, along with tips and guidance on using MHDPro online courses as part of an in-salon CPD programme.

Ross told us, “I chose the Romantic Bridal Hair collection because I felt the team could do with more training in this area. It was also just in time for the summer weddings we are booked to do the hair for.”

Steve told us that the team were highly enthusiastic and motivated, “They were really keen to learn and worked hard to achieve the results. Everyone was following along on their phones and tablets, totally absorbed in the process.

“Ross has put together a beautiful salon and talented team. Together they’ve won loads of awards, which are all well deserved. It’s always a pleasure to work with a team so open to learning something new.”

Ross said, “Steve is a great guy and the day was fun. It was different because we were following a step by step video that we could stop or rewind at any time, which was very useful and we’ll definitely be using online supported training again. Everyone in the team much more confident with hair up now.”
